Dismore rejects TfL plans to cut Night Bus services to Barnet and Camden

Andrew Dismore has written to TfL calling on them not to cut Night Bus services to Barnet and Camden

Mr Dismore said:

‘We were promised a comprehensive night transport system but TfL have misrepresented what they are about to do.

TfLs current plans will cut night bus services to Camden and especially Barnet. This will affect those who depend on the service for less expensive  reliable and safe transport to and from unsociable shift work. Many of these night time workers are amongst the lowest paid in London and to force them to use the underground at the  tube’s higher fares is very unfair.

Reductions in the 134, N5 and N20 will result in these workers taking more expensive tube journeys and walking further at night.

I am therefore writing to TfL objecting to these short sighted and unfair cuts which favour those on higher incomes who are in the West End to enjoy themselves over those who need to work there as cleaners or hospitality staff, for example.’
