“TfL slipping 13 bus changes through under the radar” says Dismore

Labour London Assembly Member for Barnet and Camden Andrew Dismore has written to Transport for London (TfL) asking them to increase awareness of changes to the 13 bus route. The former 13 bus route from Golders Green to Aldwych has been scrapped, and the service number reassigned to the 82.

In a letter to TfL’s Director of Surface Transport Leon Daniels, Mr Dismore asked for more information to be supplied at bus stops to passengers of the service. Mr Dismore said that signs for the routes had already being changed, such as at Allandale Avenue in Finchley (Photo below, with route 82 sign changed to 13) for the start of the new service.

Mr Dismore said:

‘TfL’s efforts to scrap the 13 bus have seemed underhand from the beginning. There was little consultation, and when they received a petition with 1870 signatures that I submitted, they counted it as one objection. Even then they admitted that the feedback was heavily against the proposals, but they went ahead with the decision anyway. Now they are making the changes without telling anyone about them. It will be very confusing for many bus users.’

‘I constantly press TfL on the need to listen to residents and consider what they are saying properly, instead of just doing what they want. They cannot just sneak changes past people, they should put more visible information at bus stops.’
