Goodge Street lifts maintenance update from TfL

Lift maintenance at Goodge Street Tube station 04 September 2017 until late-October 2018

I am writing to let you know that we will soon commence maintenance works on the four lifts at Goodge Street Tube station.

As part of our ongoing works programme to ensure our lifts remain safe and reliable, we will refurbish the four lifts at Goodge Street station from Monday 04 September 2017 until late October 2018.

The lifts will be refurbished two at a time in order to minimise disruption by keeping the station open and running during this essential work.

During this time station will operate as exit only between 07.30 and 10.00am on weekdays.

Customers who usually enter Goodge Street station during this period will be advised to use nearby Warren Street and Tottenham Court Road stations – both are approximately a five minute walk away.

Once the work is completed customers will benefit from a more reliable lift service and due to a modified design the refurnished lifts will also have a 10 per cent increased capacity (from 50 to 55 persons)

Customers will be notified of these works via a number of different communications. This will include emails to Northern line customers, information online and via social media, in the Metro newspaper, and signs and PAs within the station.
