Gospel Oak to Barking line finally reopening

The London Overground line from Gospel Oak to Barking is finally being reopened on Monday 15th January after the completion of work to install overhead electrical lines, which will enable a new fleet of state-of-the-art longer length trains to operate from spring.

Mr Dismore said:

‘The electrical works have taken far longer than anticipated, but it is good news that an important transport link between north and East London is restored. The new trains that will operate from the spring have greater capacity and feature walk-through carriages, air conditioning, live network information screens and improved reliability. The new cleaner electric trains will also improve air quality for people living and working along the route.’
