Traffic Signals at Stirling Corner: just what is going on?

Earlier this year, Transport for London (TfL) undertook a trial removal of signals at Stirling Corner which operated part time between 3.30-6.30pm on weekdays. TfL concluded the signals should not be removed and ought to be returned to part time operation. But TfL has now decided to “extend” the trial.

Andrew Dismore, Labour London Assembly candidate for Barnet and Camden said;

“Just what has happened to persuade TfL to change their mind? What is the Mayor up to, and has Brian Coleman been involved? After all, Mr Coleman has “previous form” when he fought against road safety measures at Stirling Corner and lowering speed limits between Stirling Corner and Apex Corner several years ago.

Is this another example of political interference with officer recommendations for improved road safety?”
