Dismore wins Olympics battle for Hasmonean school children

Under the London Olympic Games ticket allocation for school children,HasmoneanPrimary Schoolwere offered tickets to a volleyball event which fell on a Saturday. When approached by the school, London 2012 (LOCOG) refused to exchange the tickets.

Labour London Assembly member Andrew Dismore came to the rescue, after a request fromHasmoneanPrimary Schoolheadteacher Mrs Rodin.

Andrew successfully argued with London 2012 to issue new tickets that did not fall on Shabbat- with the bonus that the new tickets also were for  the basketball competition instead, whose  events are on the Olympic Park itself, unlike the original volleyball.

Mrs Rodin, headteacher ofHasmoneanPrimary Schoolsaid:

“I am so grateful to Mr. Dismore for dealing with the matter so speedily and for a positive outcome.”

Andrew Dismore AM said:

“After all the controversies concerning the Olympic ticketing issue, I was concerned that this might have been a challenge too far, but after an Olympic tussle, Hasmo got the gold medal in terms of their new tickets. I was pleased to have been of help”.
