The future of Hampstead Police Station

Upon reading the report in todays Ham and High Andrew Dismore has written to Stephen Greenhalgh, the new Deputy Mayor for Policing and Crime to seek clarification on the future of Hampstead Police Station, as well as seeking assurances from Mr Greenhalgh that Albany St and West Hampstead Police Stations will be retained.

Below is a copy of the letter.

Dear Mr Greenhalgh,

Hampstead Police Station

I am writing to you regarding a report that has been released in today’s edition of the Ham and High newspaper which claims that Hampstead Police Station is to be sold off.

In a written answer (2302/2012) to my colleague Joanne McCarthy AM, Mayor Johnson listed the police stations that have been earmarked for closure in 2012/13. Hampstead Police Station was not listed.

Please confirm there are no plans for or preparatory work for plans on the closure of Hampstead Police Station?

Could you also confirm there are no plans for or preparatory work taking place regarding the closure of both Albany Street Police Station and West Hampstead Police Station?

Yours sincerely,

Andrew Dismore
