Another threatened unwelcome local development in Edgware

Bury Farm under threat

buryfarm - aerial

As you may know, hot on the heels of the Avanti school planning threat, there is yet another threat to local amenity.

Oxford University, who own the Bury Farm land, want to dispose of hundreds of acres of farmland to an exclusive  golf course developer.

This will mean that the existing footpaths and bridleways over the farm will be lost as will the wonderful unspoilt historic countryside which has been part  of the local amenity for centuries, as it would be converted to a manicured managed golf course with no public rights of way

The future of the popular  riding stables operated at Bury Farm will be jeopardised, too.

There are already 21 existing golf  courses within 5 limes of Bury Farm, and some of these struggle due to there being overprovision of golf facilities  compared to the demand for them, in the area.

If you are concerned as I am about his, please email me back, and I will keep you informed about the growing local campaign  against what I see as a very unwelcome development.

Time is short, as there are only a couple of weeks to object, so I look forward to hearing from you as soon as possible.

Best wishes
