Stirling Corner update – February 2014

stirlingcorner

I have just had some good news, re safety at Stirling  Corner!

I have been arguing for some time about the need for a reduced speed limit, down to 50 MPH (still pretty fast!)

Transport for London are at long last proposing to reduce the speed limit from 70mph to 50mph between the junctions of the A1 Rowley Lane and  Courtland Avenue  and  would like your comments.

Details of the proposal can be found online at: https://consultations.tfl.gov.uk/streets/a1-barnet-bypass

Please use TfL’s online web site to provide your comments by Friday 28 March 2014.

If you agree, it is really important that you respond: we do not want to be in the position  we are re the traffic lights, with negative views outnumbering the positive ones, at least until the recent effort to redress the balance, for which I am grateful to all who wrote in to TfL. I have tabled a question for the next Mayor’s Question Time to find out the current comments “score” for and against.

We are getting there, bit by bit! If we get the speed limit down, then we can resume the fight on the next issue, pedestrian safety.
