Dismore demands Mayor apologise to Mount Pleasant residents

Andrew Dismore AM, Labour London Assembly member for Barnet and Camden, demanded that Boris Johnson should apologise to residents of Mount  Pleasant  for overruling local objections and approving the unsatisfactory Royal Mail Group scheme. (video https://vimeo.com/109699288)

Mr Dismore asked the Mayor:

‘What was the point of you giving £150,000 to the Mount Pleasant Association to work up an alternative plan, when you were always going to approve the RMG scheme all along? Will you now apologise to the local communities for ignoring their views and leading them up the garden path, when you gave planning permission?

‘You took only just over half an hour before lunch to rule on your edict- was it so short because Boozy Boris was getting tetchy waiting for your liquid lunch? ‘

(Mr Dismore was referring to the press interview , when  the mayor said that he could work and write after substantial drinking at lunchtime)

After questions, Mr Dismore added;

‘The mayor was utterly unrepentant. On the one hand he said he liked the scheme worked up by the residents , but on the other has approved the RMGs appalling one. He took a very short time indeed  to decide after the so called public hearing, and it is clear that he had already made his mind up despite whatever anyone said at the hearing.’
