Dismore demands ban on far right demonstration in Golders Green
I have written written to the Metropolitan Police Commissioner, Mayor of London, Deputy Mayor for Policing , and the Home Secretary, calling for a ban on the far right demonstration against the Jewish community in Golders Green, apparently to be held on 4th July.
‘This is clearly a highly provocative scheme on the part of the far right to insult and incite hatred against the Jewish community. This year has seen a huge rise in anti- Semitic attacks in London, including in Barnet, and after the events in Paris , the Jewish community is feeling very insecure.
‘This event is designed to play on those fears and the risk of violence against Jewish businesses and residents is clearly present.
‘This is why I have written to demand that the demonstration be banned; and that those who plan to attend it are prevented from using TfL public transport to get to Golders Green to ensure any ban is effective.’
