Dismore questions Mayor over far right demonstration in Golders Green
I raised the far right demonstration against the Jewish community planned for July in Golders Green with Mayor Boris Johnson at Mayor’s Question Time on 21st May
It is vital that action is taken to defend the Jewish community against this anti Semitic rally. I wrote to the Mayor about this earlier in the week and it was vital that I followed this up with the Mayor at MQT.
I am concerned that the Mayor seemed unwilling to try to ban the demonstration, but given the likely threat of disorder and violence, action must be taken by the Mayor as the police authority for London, to deal with this risk.
After the events in Paris and Copenhagen, and the significant rise in anti Semitic incidents in London, this rally is clearly intended to incite race hatred against the Jewish community. it cannot be allowed to proceed as the far right intend.
