Dismore questions Mayor over HS2

Mayor to prioritise visit to Euston to meet residents

Labour London Assembly Member for Barnet and Camden Andrew Dismore AM took the opportunity of  the Assembly Plenary meeting on Transport to question London  Mayor Sadiq Khan  about his approach to HS2 (video link https://vimeo.com/169877063).

After question time, Mr Dismore said:

‘I was pleased to see  that Sadiq has agreed to an early visit to Euston, to see for himself the consequences of HS2 for the area, and I am following  this up,  to set a date as soon as possible.

‘From his answers, I believe that Sadiq has  a good grasp  of the issues, and will do his best to ensure that Camden residents’ interests are defended.

‘He has made the case to HS2 directly, and also understands the deficiencies  in HS2’s approach  to consulting the  local community.

It is also important, that progress is being  made about the Crossrail 2 interchange, in particular  ensuring that it is part of the main Euston station plan, and avoiding further destruction of homes in Somers Town.’
