Mr B Johnson not playing a straight bat
The July edition of The Cricketer includes this quotation form Earl Spencer:
“I still play a bit myself. I have an annual match at Althorp House against Boris Johnson’s XI.I was a contemporary of his at Oxford. Two years ago we shook hands and agreed not to indulge in this ridiculous tactic of bringing ringers into the match-ex Test players and the like. Then just before the game started this helicopter appeared and landed next to the cricket pitch and out of it stepped Kevin Pieterson playing for Boris. We still won because Boris had to lay with eight Johnsons in the team. I know why he is so successful in politics as he says one thing and does another!”
