Brexit written questions
Brexit 1
Question No: 2016/2551 Andrew Dismore Have you had discussions with the EU Commission over the future of London’s interests, as a result of Brexit? Written response from the Mayor It is for the Government to discuss the UK’s arrangements for leaving the EU. The European Commission has made clear that it will not enter into discussion of Brexit until a formal notification of the UK’s leaving is received. This is understandable. Nevertheless, I am planning to visit Brussels in the coming months to discuss London’s EU interests with the relevant Commissioners. Whatever the arrangements for the future EU-UK relationship, London will still need to maintain a dialogue with the EU institutions.

Brexit 2
Question No: 2016/2552 Andrew Dismore What discussions have you had with the Scottish Government’s First Minister over the consequences of Brexit? Written response from the Mayor I have spoken with the first minister to Scotland and we are both in agreement that we need a seat at the negotiating table to ensure that the views of the Scottish people and Londoners form part of those discussions. We both believe that in the best interest of jobs and the economy, the United Kingdom must seek to retain access to the single market.
