Dismore welcomes Camden Town Station consultation

London Assembly Member for Barnet and Camden Andrew Dismore AM has welcomed a consultation by Transport for London (TfL) into plans to improve capacity at Camden Town Underground station including a new second station entrance on Buck Street.

If TfL proceed with their proposals, buildings currently located on the proposed site will be replaced by a new station entrance and creates an opportunity to build much needed housing along with retail and business space.

Mr Dismore said:

‘This development would support the Mayor of London Sadiq Khan’s plan to deliver new homes on TfL property across the Capital by delivering around 60-70 homes; with around 35 per cent or more to be affordable housing as part of the overall target for 50 per cent affordable housing across TfL sites.’

‘I would urge those interested to come to the public exhibition where members of the project team will be available to discuss the plans in detail. This consultation will run until 8 February 2017, and further consultation on proposals to increase capacity at the station will happen in the spring of 2017.’

The consultation will take place at the Arlington Conference Centre, 220 Arlington Road, NW1 7HE at the following dates and times:

  • Thursday 19 January 16:00 to 20:00
  • Friday 20 January 10:00 to 14:00
  • Saturday 21 January 11:00 to 15:00
