Letter to editors: Take the GLA Brexit Survey

Dear editor,

Brexit is the most pressing issue facing the UK today and I would like to hear your views about it.

A year on from the vote to leave the European Union (EU), I and my colleagues in the London Assembly  Labour Group  have launched a survey to hear local residents’  views on how Brexit will impact on a wide range of issues including jobs, the cost of living and public services.

In last year’s referendum  48% of those who voted nationally voted  to remain in the EU, but a much higher proportion  of Londoners did so: 60%. Locally, the figure was even higher sill , with 62% of Barnet and 75%  of Camden residents voting to remain.

Whilst polling shows that the majority of Londoners still want  to remain in the EU, Brexit is supposed to be  completed by March 2019. I believe  it is important that I know from local people and businesses on what issues they consider  the government should focus in the negotiations.  We will report on the survey  conclusions    later in the  year , to influence the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan and the Government.

The link to the survey is below.  Please  take a few minutes to complete it to give me your views.  The survey will remain open until 1st September.
