Barnet cold weather preparation “inadequate”
Labour London Assembly Member for Barnet and Camden Andrew Dismore said that Barnet Council’s preparation for snow this weekend was inadequate.
Mr Dismore said:
‘In have received reports from many parts of the borough complaining that even major roads have not been gritted, from High Barnet and East Barnet to East Finchley, Cricklewood and Colindale. There are abandoned cars and buses in several locations because even priority roads do not appear to have been effectively gritted.’
‘Whilst I thank the staff who have been working in the freezing cold on the weekend and into today, I do think the administration at Barnet ought to review their strategy and communications. Residents clearly do not believe what the council is telling them about how much has been done.’
