Dismore questions Mayor over implications of Carillion collapse

At today’s Mayor’s Question Time, Labour London Assembly Member for Barnet and Camden Andrew Dismore AM asked London Mayor Sadiq Khan for an urgent update on the implications of the collapse of construction and facilities management giant Carillion.

Mr Dismore asked the Mayor:

‘What is the extent to which the wider GLA family is exposed; what remedial measures there are; and the extent to which London public services are exposed and what we can do from the GLA to help, e.g. co-ordinate a response?’

The Mayor said that this was a worrying time for thousands of staff, and he was in contact with the GLA family to ensure plans are in place to maintain services. He is working with TfL and the trade unions to protect jobs and livelihoods and will do all he can to protect services.
