Finchley Central lift fixed ahead of schedule after Dismore intervenes

The disabled lifts at Finchley Central station have now been fixed, after complaints from residents and Labour London Assembly Member for Barnet and Camden Andrew Dismore.

The lift, which went out of service in December, had been due to be repaired between April and May. Mr Dismore raised the subject with Transport for London, telling that that the delay was unacceptable, and that a sign telling residents to go all the way to High Barnet was inconsiderate.

Mr Dismore said:

‘The broken part was bespoke, and located in a difficult to access part of the lift, which is why the original estimate to fix was so long, but I’m glad TfL listened to residents and myself, and have managed to fix this a lot quicker. I visited the Station to have a look, and it seems to working as normal. I also checked the southbound lift just in case!’
