Dismore welcomes new investment in Colindale Tube Station
Labour London Assembly Member for Barnet and Camden Andrew Dismore has welcomed news that the Mayor of London Sadiq Khan is to invest £5 million in a new station building at Colindale. The scheme will deliver step-free access and new pedestrian and cycle links, helping to support around 10,000 new homes, 1,000 jobs and the wider regeneration of the area.
Mr Dismore said:
‘The Conservative Council has totally lost the plot in Colindale, with their regentrification schemes losing hundreds of council homes, whilst over-densifying the area with thousands of new flats. They haven’t planned any of the new investment Colindale will need. It is good to see that the Labour Mayor of London Sadiq Khan is taking a bolder and more engaged approach than his predecessor.
‘The Mayor has batted away a phase of the regeneration with minimum affordable housing levels, and he is now investing in Colindale station so that it is fit for purpose and can handle the volume of passengers that will be using the station. This is the big difference, the Labour Mayor is making the much needed investments Colindale needs to manage bad Conservative decisions.’
