Dismore Condemns anti-Israel fly-posting

Labour London Assembly Member for Barnet and Camden Andrew Dismore condemned the flyposting of London bus stops with posters saying “Israel is a racist endeavour” by London Palestine Action.

An emergency motion was brought to the London Assembly to condemn the action.

Mr Dismore said:

‘It isn’t so long ago that the Assembly passed unanimously the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance definition of anti-Semitism, only the second public body to do so in the country. Acting on this issue is entirely consistent with that decision. This is not the first time these outrages have happened, and I have raised this with Transport for London several times before. On the last occasion I sent evidence of the people who did this boasting about it on social media, but there was no follow up investigation. Those responsible must be identified and prosecuted if this abuse is to be deterred in the future.

‘I also question why it is so easy to access the advertising cabinets and stick these illegally fly-posted messages behind the Perspex, covering over legitimate and paid for adverts. The operators should also look at installing proper locks to prevent this continuing to occur.’
