Dismore pays tribute to London Fire Commissioner Dany Cotton on the announcement of her retirement

Responding to the announcement that London Fire Commissioner, Dany Cotton, will retire from service in April 2020, Labour’s London Assembly Fire and Resilience Spokesperson, Andrew Dismore AM, said:

“I want to thank Dany Cotton for the immense dedication she has shown to keeping our city safe.

“During recent years we have seen some significant challenges for the London Fire Brigade, not least because of budgetary pressures, but most notably because of the horrific fire at Grenfell Tower.‎

“There will undoubtedly have been some tough operational decisions to take, and our job has been to scrutinise those, but we are clear that Dany has done a fantastic job in protecting Londoners, in supporting fire fighters, and has shown brilliant leadership during some unimaginably hard times.

“We wish her all the very best for the future.”
