Dismore supports listing of Midland Hotel
Labour London Assembly Member for Barnet and Camden Andrew Dismore has joined calls for the listing of the Midland Hotel in Hendon. Developers have been seeking to make changes to the building that would adversely affect the mid-Victorian pub.
Mr Dismore said:
‘The Midland is a local jewel and a reminder of the Victorian history of Hendon, and the coming of the railway lines here. There is immense value to the local community, who have lost a number of pubs over the years. The new plans for the building would in my view be damaging to the operation of the pub. Once you lose a historic building it is gone forever.’
