Changes to children and young people’s emergency department at Barnet Hospital and across north central London

From North Central London CCG:

The children and young people’s emergency department at Barnet Hospital will be temporarily diverted to other hospitals from midday on Tuesday 14 April.

Local hospitals are working together to plan ahead and deliver the best possible care to all patients during the coronavirus outbreak.

The children and young people’s emergency department at Barnet Hospital will be temporarily diverted to other hospitals as follows:
. For London residents: North Middlesex University Hospital (Sterling Way, London N18 1QX)
. For Hertfordshire residents: Watford General Hospital (Vicarage Road, Watford, Herts WD18 0HB).
In north central London, children and young people’s emergency services also continue to be available at:
. Royal Free Hospital (Pond St, London NW3 2QG)
. Whittington Health NHS Trust (Magdala Ave, London N19 5NF).
The children and young people’s emergency department at UCLH is closed.

From this date (Tuesday 14 April, midday) anyone aged under 18 needing care for an accident or an emergency should go to the emergency departments at the hospitals outlined above.

If people urgently need medical help or advice, but it is not a life-threatening situation, or if they don’t know who to contact, they should check NHS 111 online.
