Camden awarded over £700,000 for walking and cycling upgrades
In response to the news that Transport for London (TfL) have awarded £731,995 to Camden in emergency funding for seven cycling and walking infrastructure schemes, local London Assembly Member, Andrew Dismore AM, said:
“As we come out of the first outbreak of Covid-19, changing the way we get around the capital will be vital to boosting our recovery efforts.
“This emergency funding awarded through TfL today will help to accelerate plans to significantly improve and expand cycling and walking infrastructure in the borough, as part of the London Streetspace scheme.
“Making our streets friendlier for cyclists and pedestrians will not only help to aid continued social distancing, but also clean up our toxic air which contributes to the premature deaths of around 10,000 Londoners per year”.
