Objection to planning application for Stanmore And Edgware Golf Centre

Objection to planning application for Stanmore And Edgware Golf Centre, Brockley Hill, Stanmore, HA7 4LR, Ref: P/3088/20

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing to object to the above application in my capacity as London Assembly Member for Barnet and Camden, due to the impact on residents of Brockley Hill in Barnet.

Firstly, I am concerned that this development will lead to Increased traffic and congestion in a quiet residential area on the edge of London, where people have moved to precisely for the enjoyment of a quieter life. This development, if successful, will lead to parking problems in neighbouring roads as well, given it is far away from public transport. There are only 64 parking spaces, but events here will accommodate up to 500 guests.

The area has recently suffered a rise in congestion due to other developments nearby, and another venue is only likely to exacerbate the existing problem. Also such busy activity onsite will also lead to noise and disturbance form music and sound systems.

In addition, the proposed development will spoil the green spaces surrounding it and be detrimental to local wildlife, habitats and air quality.

I therefore urge a rejection of this application.

Yours sincerely,

Andrew Dismore AM

London Assembly Member for Barnet and Camden
