Tube noise update from TfL

I am writing to update you on our residential Tube noise monitoring programme.

Following the government’s latest guidance regarding a roadmap out of the current lockdown, we now expect to resume our residential monitoring programme from Tuesday 06 April 2021, with additional protocols in place to comply with social distancing guidelines. This will help to inform our continuing work to address noise and vibration issues on the Tube network.

We will shortly be contacting residents in order to arrange for measurements to take place. We will be focusing on priority areas, and working through those measurements we have been unable to undertake due to restrictions in recent months.

Addressing Tube noise remains a priority for us and we continue to investigate every noise complaint we receive thoroughly and promptly. Therefore, it is important that residents get in touch with the TfL Contact Centre if there are any issues, as this allows us to identify any noise ‘hotspots’. We would be grateful if you could encourage your constituents to do so should they contact you with noise-related concerns. TfL will respond to any noise complaints within 14 days. Residents can get in touch with the Contact Centre on 0343 222 1234 or at https://tfl.gov.uk/help-and-contact/contact-us-about-tube-and-rail
