Letter to the Editor: Thank you to the voters of Barnet

Dear editor,

May I use your letters column to thank all the voters of Barnet who voted for me in last week’s London Assembly elections?  I am grateful for the honour  you have now given me  to serve you on the GLA. I will be an Assembly Member for all those in the two boroughs and will do the best I can to ensure your voice is heard in City Hall.

I also wish to thank all my campaign team for their hard work.

From Barnet residents who voted for me the message was clear in the stunning majority you gave me over the former Assembly Member, Brian Coleman. It is time for Barnet Council to change course on its policies – in particular on the outrageous parking system- and to row back its privatisation agenda.

You also voted for a fresh approach to the office I now hold of Assembly Member. For those who voted for me and also for those who didn’t, I will listen to you and you will get a courteous and professional response, whether or not I agree with what you have to say.

It is a really challenging job you have now given me for the next four years, to serve the hundreds of thousands of people of the two boroughs and five parliamentary constituencies, and I will do my utmost to meet your expectations and the trust you have placed in me to represent you at City Hall.

Yours sincerely,

Andrew Dismore AM

Labour London Assembly member for Barnet and Camden
