Letter to editors on 384 bus

Dear editor,
We have been putting pressure on TfL to reverse their decision to press ahead with their changes to the 384 bus route, which will leave many New and East Barnet passengers without access to a bus service. It is disappointing that they have gone ahead with these changes unannounced, and without holding the public meeting they promised, after we had worked so hard with local residents to obtain a 1300 signature petition against the move over a year ago.
The deeper issue here is that the Government scrapped their £500 million grant to TfL, and the Coronavirus pandemic is having a deep impact on TfL finances. The only way to stop cuts to bus services is for the Government to start funding TfL again and reverse their cuts. We call on the Government to do this as a matter of urgency. If the government do not take action to provide London with the funding it needs and deserves, there will be serious effects on life in the suburbs and our economy.
Yours sincerely,
